Re: bow hunting accuracy

Agreed with all the posts, as long as you practice and know your equipment and your capabilities 100+ shots are not unreasonable.... We have harvested a lot of deer with bows ranging from 10 yds to 75 yds. http://i1056.photobucket.com/albums/t373/Bberry2031/DeerBow.jpg http://i1056.photobucket.com/a...

Where are you located? I would look for a reputable breeder and if you can go look at the sire and dam. You will really get a sense of what the pup will be like if you can do that.

1st bird for thepup

Went out for the grouse opener this weekend and put on a lot of miles. The pup did great and got his first wild bird in the bag. Pointed, steady to flush, and retrieved to hand. Not too bad for a 6 month pup. Pretty proud of my little guy. http://i1056.photobucket.com/albums/t373/Bberry2031/rebel1st...

we went out for grouse on saturday, we did find 4 or 5 coveys, but they were all very flightey. Hard for the dogs, even the experienced ones to hold them on point. We put on 10 miles and didnt limit out. Good luck for all who hunt them.

i wouldnt waste your time south of watford unless you know someone with land. With the oil boom there are soooooo many trucks and rig sites that finding birds is very hard to do. Not saying they arent there, but will be more difficult then going south. Basically, I-94 to Williston is all oil rig sit...

Just a side note, the cattle shouldn't have anything to do with whether or not there are birds there. But it is good that you are getting them out and exposing them to the different elements. I would have to beg the differ, herew if there are cattle in the field you might as well go to a differfent...

I took my pup out to the field for the first time at 3 months, i did not put him on a check cord and just let him roam and figure things out.
