Hello and welcome... sorry to hear about the accident with the pup. Sounds like you are gonna have your hands full in a little while with the addition.

Re: DT Systems H2O 1850

I was looking at the H20 1850 collar and Dogtra 2500 T & B collar at my local store. A few things i noticed: The 1850 has the beeper on the back of the neck, not a problem except the wire running inside the collar to the beeper. Posibillity of breaking that wire and the beeper would not work. The Do...

I am picking up my GSP pup in a few weeks and wanted some thoughts of a name for him. Any thoughts for a good hunting dog name?

Thanks

Re: Bird Intro With Only Wild Birds?

that was kinda my question. Reading all the posts on here with everyone introducing their pups to pigeons, quail, etc..... but i dont have acess to them so my only option is to walk the fields. I dont think it will be a real problem as we have lots of birds, but i wont be able to do any intro beside...

Bird Intro With Only Wild Birds?

Hhey Everyone,

Wanted to see your thoughts on bird intro to wild birds only. I do not have access to any pen raised birds. What would you suggest other than walking fields and finding wild birds? Any better way or suggestion to get a pup started on them?

Thanks!

Re: Dehydrator

Just got my dehydrator about a year ago, here is what i found: Deer: 160 degree's 1/4 inch thick pieces 4 hrs in dehydrator. Beef: 160 degrees 5-6 hours 1/4 inch thick pieces it seemed to me that with the beef there is a little more fat and it takes longer. Once you remove the jerky refrigerate over...

Re: 870 Express or Stoeger Uplander???

i currently shoot a Stoeger and believe me, stay with the 870. Nothing but problems with this gun, it jams all the time. Since it was free i cannot complain but i am purchasing a Benelli Nova for this reason. Just my opinion but you can definatley tell they used cheap parts in the Stoeger.

Re: What is the best e collar to use?

Thanks for the info, seems to be the theme when it does come to them. i just didnt know if the extra $100-$150 bucks for the Tri-Tonics and Dogtra was actually worth it over the sport dog brand. But i guess if they do last longer and work better, the extra money up front will be worth while for the ...

New to the forum

Hello All, I am new to the forum and very excited to join the "gun dog family", i just purchased a German Shorthair Pointer. She will be ready in 7 weeks to pick her up. Cant wait! I have hunted with my father and his Britaney Spaniel, and she does well. So i thought it was time to get my own.
