Re: Cadens Bandit/ Highpoint Trudi litter

I have a three year old FC bitch sired by Bandit that is the most calm and well mannered GSP I have ever been around. I am familiar with my bitch's breeding as I bred her dam. I am not familiar with the dam of the litter you mention, but Bandit is very laid back when not at work himself. I would say...

Re: field trial question ?

I am a field trailer, but started out as a hunt tester. I believe if Max's dog is steady to wing and shot and will retrieve, he should try hunt testing starting at the senior hunter level. If his dog is not steady to wing and shot and he does not find that important for his enjoyment, he could start...

I've seen Jim run in field trials. He is a very handsome dog and his breeder probably could have put a show championship on him if he was so inclined. Jim's sire is a dual champion. He ran an average shooting dog to gundog race the times I observed him. Sorry, I don't recall specific bird work altho...

I understand Indy and Angelina had runs well regarded. I had one lost at 40 and one with a very good run, but no birds. I'm told that several dogs went bird less today. Thanks John,

Dennis said he ran a very consistent Shooting dog race, always in front and one hill away. He had two covey finds and a stop to flush and finished just as he started. Dennis also related that it was very hot this year. Not bad for a young dog, he will be three the end of November.

American Field sanctions retrieving stakes every time a GSP, Vizsla or Weim trial is dualsanctioned by AKC and AF, and that happens all the time... This is almost uniquely an AKC thing. If a dog wins the shooting dog in an American field trial he probably won't be in the mix in the all age nor should he be. This was a NGSPA (American Field) trial that was dual sanctioned as an AKC trial. The judges in the amateur both liked bigger running dogs...
