I teach my dogs "Doctor" at a young age. Basically lay down and stay down. Handy for throwing some Super Glue in barbwire gashes, pulling thorns, trimming nails, and appling Pad Kote to the young dogs that haven't toughened their feet up yet. Ugh consider yourself lucky. Those Setter folk running around with their yellow shooting glasses and L.L. Bean hunting vest, sipping on their expensive wine and puffing on their cuban cigars gets a little old. But on the plus side they leave plenty of birds for the people with real bird dogs.

The Tan dog backing in the middle picture, what breed is it? He's built like and has a head like your pointers. I know the Pointers you boys have across the pond are a almostly a completely different dog then we have here, but that tan throws a curveball.............

There is a difference between just running to run and running smartly, hunting objectives, hunting the wind, etc. Horseback trial dogs are going to show stamina, stamina and more stamina, exactly what I need hunting ridge tops and canyons for 3-5 hours. Shows the dog is biddable..........very biddab...

I have no NSTRA experience but from what I have heard it is more about playing in a fishbowl than actual hunting I would suggest you attend a trial before voicing incorrect statements on a National Organization that you admit to having no expirience with, my .02 ...so many birds in a confined area....
