Marine Grouse Hunting Idaho

Before I leave to Afghanistan this fall I was planning on taking a trip to hunt some blues and ruffs in northern Idaho during September. I'm just wondering if anyone has any useful information that could help me out or if anyone would like to hunt together? As of now I'm going to be hunting around CDA, Sandpoint, Bonners Ferry. I have a small, female, french brittany that will be tagging along with me. Ive hunted upland birds my entire life but "mountain grouse" are new to me. Any info you have would be greatly beneficial. I've already called the forest rangers and talked with them, also I bought a few maps that I've been studying. Thanks!
