Hello from Oklahoma
Hello from Oklahoma
I'm new to this forum, and new to the bird dog world. I'm not new to pheasant hunting though. I just got a Brittany pup and makiing arrangements to get her started by a trainer in about August. She was the runt of the litter but we picked her over her sis because she seemed more alert and attentive. I could coome up with a dozen questions for you guys, but for now I wonder about weight gain. She's been checked and vaccinagted by vet, I just think she should be eating more and putting on the weight. She'll be seven weeks old tomorrow. She's on Purina puppy chow and I'm starting to mix a little Iams with it. Any ideas on helping her gain or am I unnecessarily concerned?
Also wondered how to assign a pic beside my messages.

Weight will come, don't be too worried about it, now. I've seen too many dogs that look like they ate a turtle. A picture would help us all to determine if she's at a crucial point though. For posting pictures, I use photobucket. You can upload all of your pictures and use links to post them to the forum. Knine is the PB Queen! Let us know if you have any questions about PB.

Ok, don't hate me but from that pic she looks to be VERY healthy! My 50+ lb GSPs eat a cup a day, most of them. She looks fine, I'd be more worried about her familiarizing with the family. She looks like a great bundle of fun!
Re: Hello from Oklahoma
I'm in Tulsa.
I think she's pretty healthy and her appetite is kickin in. She's socializing with the people around her well. Potty training and crate training are going very well too.
