Gun Dog Forum

Hi, my name is Chris. Just joined the forum as I am soon to be the papa of a Vizsla pup. It will be my first gundog . Hunted all my life but never over a dog. I will be working with the bedder to start the pup but may send him to a pro who trains versatile dogs or vizslas for a living when he matures a little. Recommendations on a good trainer is what brought me here. I hang out alot on the Texas hunting forum though.

welcome, it looks like you have a good plan to get started. I would just want to be involved as much as possible in the training even if you send it to a pro.

Also, 2 things, this thread is useless with out pics, ! and I second, who is the breeder?

He has a very good reputation on the forum over there.

They won't be born for another couple weeks so I still have a little time. Unfortunately I work a 30 on 30 off schedule so the Brian (the breeder) is going to help me with obedience and gun dog intro stuff while I'm home and work with the pup (and my wife some) when I'm gone.
