New Guy From Indiana
New Guy From Indiana
Hello all, I am 63 years old and have been a bird hunter since I got my first Brittany when I was 16 years old. Initially all of my bird hunting was for Quail but about 1970 I became an enthusiastic Grouse hunter. At that time we had a very good population of grouse in Indiana. There are not many birds left here so I do most of my hunting out of state. Wisconsin for Ruffed Grouse and Kansas for Quail and Pheasant. I have been going to Wisconsin for decades and kansas for the last few years. I currently have a Brittany and a GSP and am going to purchase another dog this spring as my Brittany is getting old.

Re: New Guy From Indiana
Rinker: No, I am not a member of the Glenns Valley Conservation Club but I have heard of it. I am just a bird hunter and have never been involved in field trials.

rufgr - I'm not trying to talk you in to joining, but I would think that field trialers may actually be in the minority.
uplandrsb - Yes, in decent weather I am there once or twice a week.

I have run a couple of HTs at Glenn Valley and it is a nice place. From the From the folks I met there, I would say the majority are folks involved with NAVHDA and HTs.

A limit on the strap is nice, but the kill has nothing to do with tradition.
