Hi from North Scotland

Post by ilovemyheckler » Tue Sep 24, 2013 1:06 pm

Just thought I would say hi.
I live in north Scotland and have 1 4 year old English springer spaniel with another puppy due early 2014.
She is my first hunting dog and I have trained her myself and regularly use her to pick up on driven days shooting grouse, pheasant and partridge.

Thought I would have a look in here and see if I can pick up any USA training tips.

Hi there new member, I'm a new member myself from the North East US and I'm no expert on dog training but my Brittany has been doing a fine job for me and I just started hunting him last season. I hunted for many years without a dog and boy what a mistake that was. I've had more success this past season than I had in the 20 or so years I hunted alone. I have taken a few friends and relatives along on some hunts last year and they are already asking about tagging along this season. Your dog looks awesome. I was also looking at getting a springer originally but the breeders were too far from my home. They are pretty closely related to my dog from what I understand. Are there any specific questions you have? I'd be glad to help if I can. How's the bird hunting in Scotland going?

Beautiful dog. I would like to have about three just like her. I'm not sure what training tips you will be able to pick up, but we have lots of opinions. I personally try to pick up training tips from your side of the Atlantic.
