Hello! I have a 1.5 year old GSP. I don't hunt. Deer hunting occasionally but my dog isn't trained to hunt. Which is exactly why I'm here. I'll post in general chat now.

Chainsaw dogs don't have to be trained to hunt,that comes natural but they have to be trained to do things correctly & work as a team.If you get the right dog it's not all that complicated.
You might have the right dog but if he has never had the chance to show you how will you know.You can learn how to give him that chance by asking questions & then training him or buy
another dog that has the natural abilty & train.If you have a GSP we don't know where he came from but it's hard for me to believe he doesn't have some kind of hunting instincts in him.
