New Guy

Post by Spud » Sat Jan 06, 2007 12:14 pm

Just found you guys. Recently obtained ES pup. She's now 5 months old and coming right along with obedience training. Loves to hunt around and looks to be just right (close ranging) for an old, but eager, upland novice! She's loves to please, but is very spoiled. :D Gonna be checking out this site for any training tips, etc. Thanks. Happy New Year.

Welcome aboard!!!! What part of the country are you in? You will find a lot of advice on here if you ask and sometimes you don't even need to ask.

We are getting enough members now that usually someone on here lives fairly close to you and maybe able to help mentor you through the training process.

It's not how many breaths you have taken but how many times it has been taken away!

Has anyone noticed common sense isn't very common anymore.

Thanks, Ezzy. We live near Grangeville, ID. Most of the good bird hunting is in the southern part of the state, but we have a few pheasants and three types of grouse up here. Sharpies and such are down there. Ran into a guy down near Boise on our annual Holiday trek to Sacramento who saw my pup at the truck stop and invited me down for some bird doggin'. Pretty cool. Anyway, having a blast with this pup. Haven't used the check cord yet, she seems pretty obedient, but haven't really got into too many birds yet. This's my first attempt at dog training, but I'm really pleased with my pupil, so far.
