Name's Kelly Masek-24. My husband and I have a 3 year old GSP/Black Lab mix who dabbles in shed hunting and bird hunting. The only real training we've done with was shed hunting when he was a pup. However when ever we bust out the guns and training birds, he instinctively knows what to do. Whether it be jumping in the bay for a duck or following a falling dove. He's a bit too ADHD when we take him out on the field for the real deal. We also just got our full GSP in August. She's 6 months now and has been on a couple guided dove hunts and had a blast retrieving. We live on 50 acres and she spends the majority of her day flushing up birds. Just her for advice on training and maybe even one day breeding. Our GSP/Lab is a genius hunter, would it diminish our pure bred GSP if we breed them one day?

Welcome.
I sure wouldn't suggest it. A person should breed to improve the breed.
