Hello
I have hunted since age 10 for pretty much everything. I am 36 years old and recently lost my best dog ever (Drake)at 13. He was a lab weimaraner mix that I got at 9 weeks old for free off of Craigslist. I trained him to be a duck dog and he did great at it even though I live in North Ga which I think is just slightly better duck hunting than the desert. He ended up being a great dog for hiking, scouting for deer, and lots of traveling. The more research I did I found that he favored his mother which was a full blooded weimaraner. So my wife and I are on a waiting list for a weimaraner puppy. Im trying to learn as much as I can before his arrival so I wont create any problems. I did not know what I was doing with Drake and I know now that I probably caused some problems that was really hard to correct later. I am interested in training him for retrieving, pointing, and tracking. And maybe shed hunting as well. I look forward to reading through all the new and old forums here.
