New member from Wyoming
Hi all,
I live in South West Wyoming and I have embarked on the challenge of training a Brittany pup. I had labs and a gsp as a kid but they were poorly trained as bird dogs. I have upland and duck hunted most of my life and most of it without a dog. I am looking to make some new friends and learn what I can to help my lil britt be the best hunter she can be; and understand what she is teaching me.

Welcome to GDF.
...if you haven't purchased a GPS training/tracking unit, do so. I have a setter now who's a much better dog than my two britts were but to be fair, back then I didn't have an e-collar and I think of how much easier my life and theirs would have been and how better trained they would have been.
Best of luck with the pup and don't be shy to post~ we'd love to see a pic of her!

Thank you all,
NEHommer- Thanks for the advice. I started with the dogtra IQ plus 2 week ago. After a little "adventure" on Sunday, I ordered the pathfinder2 mini for the gps feature.

If you have a reliable recall and a solid do not move stop command, you can train your pup any way you want. What you want will probably change as you hunt with her, but you can teach a old dog new tricks.
Work on communication and letting her natural ability work for you. Enjoy......CJ
