New to the site from MN

Post by gonehunting4days » Thu Feb 15, 2007 6:14 pm

Hi everyone,
I think that this a pretty cool site with lots of good info. I have two GSP's a two year old female and a 11 month old male. I will be hitting the hunt test starting next month with them. When I bought my female it was just to go hunting and now it has evolved into an obsession. I love to work with my dogs right know we are working on force fetching and it is going really well. After I knock out the JH test I will be steading more. Here are a few pics of my dogs.

here is my 2 year old with my 12 year old on his first youth duck hunt

here is my 11 month old pup, here is 7 months old and foung these three for me.

Nice looking bunch you have there. Yes, this dog training stuff gets under your skin. Good luck with the Hunt tests. Again welcome aboard, you picked a great site to learn from.

Hello and welcome from ND! If I had a ranch here, I'd be living on it! I'm brand new to hunting and gun dogs, and some day I'll participate in hunt tests myself. Right now I'm just learning about hunting from my friends and my first dog.

We are gonna have to use stealth, Tom, stealth. We gotta lay low until there are so many we can take em by surprise and overwhelm em. Maybe Wisconsin or North Dakota will pitch in.

You worry me. As a WCHA hockey fan I can't imagine having Badger and/or Sioux fans on our side. Maybe if they promise not to show up wearing red and green respectively maybe we could build an alliance.

Good Idea. I'm going to have to do some recruiting. Maybe have the new recruits register without a location in their profile. Then just before the big coo, change their location to Minnesota and announce the takeover? I think our fellow Norseman to the east and west will join forces once we mass.

From now on... everything in Norveegian code. :P

seier!! seier!!

You guys know there is no foriegn language allowed. We made an exception for Minnesotan since we can kind of get the idea when we hear it what you are talking about but that is far as it goes

You only have to pretend to like em long enough to take over. Then we will let you eat em all. If you want. For now, keep it quiet and just between us, we might need em. Wait... were gophers aren't we... hey you aren't planning on a midnite snack on no gophers are you?

Windyhills... Is that you Tim Q.?

I am usually a Golden Rodent fan due to the fact that is what FSN usually shows. But there are a couple weekends a year that is very fun to see them lose, this last one being one. What a weekend by the Huskies!! Both the Huskies and the Gophers could be big factors in the NCAA tourney.

They don't allow much 'wrastlin in hockey anymore.

Born/raised here but 1/2 of my college schooling was in good old Grand Forks...and hockey was the event in those days. I do hear that some dead rodents found their way on to the ice up there on occasion...can't say I know how though--unless someone can tell me the statute of limitations has run out.

My call name is in my dogs registered name, but not related to the old GSP line from down south. Didn't find out about that until later. AKC never said anything, so assume they didn't lock in the kennel name or let it lapse.

Chris has me pegged--didn't know who you were until I checked out boomers pedigree. Good to see you here. Seems like a nice site.

I ended up going with Chad Hines young stud by the way Chris...not an easy choice but I don't think I can go wrong. Good trial background a generation back on both sides yet is a natural and very easy/early developing handler.

You'll like this site. Plenty of good knowledgable people always willing to lend an ear and offer some advice.

It'' be fun to to see those pups that are coming grow up. I'm sure I'll see some over the years at some events.

I heard stories about the dead gophers being thrown on the ice back at the Old Ralph. It never surprised my that people would trap gophers all summer long, throw them in the freezer to bring out for two nights during the winter. Just kind of always figured there probably wasn't anything better to do up in Grand Forks.

This year the Gophers were victims of a battery attack up at St. Cloud. You really have to wonder what kind of genious came up with the idea of a flashlight giveaway to a college hockey crowd....and not expect batteries to be launched.

Welcome! From way up north at Lake of the Woods :D We lived in E. Grand Forks for 14 years & up here since 2002. A take over? You betcha!
I was at a game where they threw dead gophers on the ice  It was real soon after we had moved to E.G.F. : & I was pretty shocked  , It was my first hockey game, being a born & raised Southern California girl

Go St. Cloud State!! How are they doing this year? I don't really get to follow them at all down here. Both my parents graduated from there and I was born in St. Cloud. Haven't been there in a few years but I was pumped up to drive through on the way to Devils Lake last fall. GO VIKES!! Maybe we can have a good signing year and clean house on the offensive side.

Hoffman35,

I'll share your enthusiam for the Huskies, 1992 grad here. They are doing very will, Motzko has brought energy and recruiting that I don't think they have seen up there since the late Herb Brooks was there. After the weekend sweep of the gophers they moved up to #2 in the polls. With the scoring they have and the goaltending they should be a factor in the NCAAs this year.

Look forward to the WCHA Final Five coming up, see if the recent dominance of the gophers can continue.

But for your Vikes cheering..... you want them you can have them. I have very little time for pro sports and zero time or interest in the vikings. I'd like to see them leave town for anywhere and then see what would happen to Gopher football program, it would go through the roof. The only problem is then I would probably have to sit next to some half drunk, pro wresting loving, displaced viking fan at the Gopher games and that would be kind of a downer.

Born and raised in good ol Minnesoooota. My mother is a full blooded Norwegian. Her father spoke Norwegian around the house often when she was a young girl. His father immigrated from Norway back in the late 1800's.

I hear Norway is very beautiful, would be nice to maybe visit someday? How was it to come that you ended up over in the US, and NoDak in particular?

Does that mean NoDak might not be permanent home? If you feel homesick you might check out Minot in October for Norsk Hostfest. Here is a link in case your interested: http://www.hostfest.com/

Looking forward to it!
