An introduction from a newbie
An introduction from a newbie
Hello. I guess this board is for introductions. I've got a four month old Gordon Setter named Ronan and I am looking for help and tips in training him. I'm an investor and married, no kids - yet.
I'm a bit of an odd bird in that I recently went on my first hunting trip for pheasant at the age of 37. For me half of hunting is the experience of being out there, the knowledge required, practicing skills learned and working with the dog(s). And the other half is dressing the kill and putting a fabulous meal on the table for friends and family that you can be proud of. I was lucky enough to do just that after my first hunt and some shooting lessons on the skeet range. Looking for more experiences like it with Ronan. Hope to talk to some of you soon.

It's not how many breaths you have taken but how many times it has been taken away!
Has anyone noticed common sense isn't very common anymore.

We give dogs time we can spare, space we can spare and love we can spare.
And in return, dogs give us their all. It's the best deal man has ever made.

Welcome! What state are you in?
FYI, I always try to cook some game before it hits the freezer. I have an 11 year old boy who hunts with me. We got a pheasant Saturday and 3 hours later it was on the grill. I like the hunt, harvest, eat mentality - you know, the old fashioned notion of going out to get something for dinner.
