Haggis Saddles

Post by dbhowell23 » Sat Oct 10, 2009 2:57 pm

I am new to riding horses and am look at buying a saddle. I have been looking at buying a used Haggis trooper saddle but I don't know if its the right size. The saddle is an 18" seat but a Rocky Mountain Horse Tree. I was told that I will be riding medium TN walking horses and I am 6' 2" 200lbs. Would this saddle be a good fit? Thanks for the help.

Depends on your horse and the tree. I'm 6' 2" and 240 and that's the saddle I use. I believe they sell it as a 19" though. I have the smaller seat saddle, 17" I believe, that I bought for the wife and it is a little small for me. I prefer the 19".

Just wanted to say that I have since bought this saddle and couldn't be happier. Haggis saddles are VERY nice.

If I hadn't got a good deal on a Tucker Trooper. I would have bought a Haggis. Real nice saddles and rode better then my Tucker. I had allready purchased the Tucker when I got to ride a Haggis. Kicked myself in the but afterwards.
