Packing game on a TW?

Packing game on a TW?

Postby Dirtysteve » Wed May 04, 2011 2:53 pm

Not bird dog related but thought I would ask.
I have always packed elk and deer out on Mules and Quarter horses but I now only own TW's. Anybody use them to pack out game?
If so how did they do?

Like any horse stuff, probably individual animal dependent on their demeanor but we've packed a few deer out on ours just using either a set of saddle panniers/boxes or just the saddle without any trouble at all - in fact, downright boring compared to some of the rodeos we've had with our mules in the past. I've been meaning to snag a decker pack saddle from my dad to rig up for one of my horses but like alot of things, just don't seem to get around to it.
