Anybody have good bear recipes besides sausage?

Here's a wonderful recipe that I usually use elk for but it says you can use bear... Never had bear so I am not sure but it's worth a try....
Big Game Pot Roast
1/3 Cup flour
1 tsp dried basil leaves
1/2 tsp dried majoram leaves
1/2 tsp dried thyme leaves
Salt & Pepper to taste
2 1/2 to 3 lb deer, antelope, elk, moose or bear roast
3 Tbsp. Veg oil
1 can (10 oz) Condensed French Onion Soup
1/2 Cup water, broth or wine
1 bay leaf
1 rutabaga peeled and cut into 1" pieces (ok, I use potaoes instead)
4-6 med carrots cut into 2" pieces
3 celery stalks cut into 2" pieces
(I also throw in some garlic and pearl onions too)
Heat oven to 350 F. In large ziplock bag combine flour, spices, salt & pepper. Add meat, coat well. In Dutch oven, brown meat on both sides in oil. Add remaining flour mixture, soup, liquid of choice, and bay leaf. Heat to boiling. Remove from heat; cover. Bake for 1 1/2 hours. Add vegetables. Recover, bake until meat & veg are tender, about 1 to 1 1/2 more hours.

I have eaten it in ground meat form but with sloppy joe sauce on a bun just like you would Manwich or sloppy joes. Was delicious.

Just about like eating deep fried gator. You would think there would be a better way to prepare that as well but I have never eaten it any other way.

My family makes bear burgers and also cooks it just like a beef roast in the crock pot. Both are great.

My favorite bear recipes are as follows:
1. grind up and make bear burgers
2. grind up and make chili using your favorite repcipe-- bear makes great chili!
3. put in one of those plastic roasting bags with some carrots, celery, onions, etc. seasoned with plenty of garlic/salt/pepper and one package of gravy mix and one package of onion soup mix. Cook just like a pot roast in the oven. This is great served with salad, sweet potatoes, wild rice and a nice bottle of merlot.

I mkae all manner of suasage from bear- I just use about 30% pork shoulder- started with sausage makers book and went from there.all I need now is another bear!

Yes, sausage seems most common. Pepperoni and Summer sausage. But..
I prefer bear pot roasts. A Sping bear can be quite good. Key, I am told, is to kill them before they get into fish at which time they can become not so pleasant to eat. I find removing all the fat from the meat keeps the gamey flavor to a minimum. I have more than once served bear pot roasts to guests and they thought it was beef.
