Looking for homers in Houston, TX

I've finished up my first coop and am looking to stock it with 6 young birds. Will they require some older birds inside as they grow older to 'learn what birds are suppose to do'? My coop is 4x4x4 with 2 nesting boxes, plenty of perches, and a wires in front patio.

If I were to trap 6 or so pigeons and keep them in my coop..feed/water them for a few weeks..would some of them likely make the coop their new home since it is secure with food and water?

If you trap and keep them till they lay and hatch little one's, they will most likely return and if not the newly hatched will.
That has been my experience.
