I don't get on here much.
I can help you with a few pigeons in SE NM. I ran into the same problem you have found. No one to buy pigeons from. My solution was to trap my own. Trapping supplies what my needs. 10-15 birds a week. Occasionally, I have a few in excess of that. Right in front of a cold front, or weather change pigeons almost stand in line in front of a trap to get the bait. These will be wild caught pigeons. 4.00 bucks a bird.

I use carded birds for training. For information on that, look up the West/Gibbons/Lindley method of training.

I do not have or keep homers and have no interest in them.

Quail, I get from a place in Lubbock, about an hour and a half away from me. I live south of Tatum NM.
I use a big recall pen and buy quail 50-60 at a time. I can give you a phone number for them if you like. I have ordered 60 quail from them for July 2019.
FYI, To use Quail and be legal you need to apply for a permit from NM Game and Fish.

Thanks a lot
I solved my problem
Also, G&F told me for 4-6 quail that I did not need a permit unles it involves a recall pen.
