Pigeons just left my loft

Last year I had a nice loft of pigeons, 15 to 20. Using some of them every day. Got down to five. They got tired of being blasted out of the trap daily I guess. One day they just left in mass. I see them fly by and check the old loft out. One pair came back to nest. Sometimes the others stop in for a free meal. Anyone else see this happen?
