I lost my second Springer earlier this year and have been just letting things settle and taking the time to grieve and be thankful for the years I had with her.

I've been slowly starting to research breeders and thinking about possibly getting a pup in the spring.

Does anyone have any recommendations for Springer breeders around Montana and the Western states? I'm looking for a field bred springer and would be willing to travel, if needed. I'm aware of Hellfire, Stonebrook, and Big Sky kennels, but just trying to look at all options.

This might be a little further from you than you would like but Ken Hanson with Blue River Kennel by Garfield, MN has some of the best field bred Springers around. I would encourage you to at least give Ken a call and visit with him. He can at least give you some good advice and/or recommendations. He has a litter due in December.

Pine Shadows in Brainerd Minnesota.
Many years breeding Springers, anything you want in springer bloodlines. lots of support
Expensive but worth it.

Pine Shadows is very well know Springer breeder. I actually took a Brittany there for some training. They are a big breeder and kennel. Ken Hanson's Blue River is just a small breeder but Ken knows his Springers. He has run his dogs in Springer trials across the country and also judged those trials. I'm familiar with both Pine Shadows and Blue River. You can't go wrong with either but I'd lean towards Blue River.
