My buddies that trade corn & beans say the fields look like onion fields. How far gone is the crop?

we have corn fields around here that are chest high and tossled out...... good stands of beans are 8-9in tall. We are 10in shy of our typical anual rainfall and having record temps..... Its gona be ugly

Wheat made good, beans looked okay down south Sunday and there are freakin' round bales everywhere. Lots of irrigation where I am, though, and we aren't too behind on rainfall.

We're lucky we've had some good rains, but " corn is not knee high by July" ; heat wave continues - 39 degrees celsius to day. :roll: °C x 9/5 + 32 = °F

under irrigation down here looks good, dry land is gonna be rough unless something changes .....like yesterday.


Report from Northern Ne and S south dakota is bad bad dry.....

pretty bad most of the beans are stunted at about 5 or 6" the corn that did tassle is only 2 1/2 to 3' tall, the leaves are rolling up and starting to wilt. some is starting to brown at the bottom. like jimbo said no real rain for six weeks or so and temps in the high 90s to the 100s for a couple of weeks now. the creek is so low its almost no fun to go after the smallies.hope we get some rain soon.

One issue with Celsius is it's too easy to round up & have less precision. 38.5 C= 101 F , 39 C = 102 F.

Central Illinois is not looking good either. We have had a nice string of temps over 100, with the heat index of the past week ranging from 104-107, and no rain in close to 3 weeks

We actually had a tough time getting the beans in it was... wait for it... too wet! The corn appears average July is looking like it's going to be rough though so we shall see
