I'm a full-time student and also deal a lot with sales. I own a small birddog supply business, make custom leathers and collars (just started the poly collars which I plan on being a big addition to the income), My nine-to-fiver right now is phone sales, selling electricity for a major provider in Texas. I get $10 an hour, but the commission is where the money is. I made 16 sales today, $12 per sale. I also do some pet obedience and behavior work.

I got a B.S. (bull sh9t?) degree in Environmental Studies with a concentration in GIS, was acknowledged in ArcUser, about to be published in the Journal of Herpetology have rebuilt the top ends of subaru's, bred birds, cooked in kitchens, been an amateur photojournalist, beekeeper, GIS specialist/intern, clocksmith apprentice, and a graphic designer/web-developer. I have tried everything and put forth the effort yet remain part of the so-called "lost-generation" where a 24k/year job sounds like being wealthy. I even founded http://www.stickitforwildlife.com in an effort to try and use my degree, which, by the way, I am still looking for illustrations for ruffed grouse and bobwhite (anyone?).

I currently hold 2 jobs and bring in about 12k a year, yet somehow still manage to do what I love... for now

Wow, quite the variety we've got going here.
gotpointers - I have 2 brothers-in-law who work for BNSF in ND and CO.

I'm surprised to be the first I/T geek posting here. I've been doing database and web design work for 16 years, started my own consulting business for a handful of years, but now back to FT work for a 'big boy toy company'. My entrepreneurial itch has me looking into building houses in the ND oilfields on the side - we'll see how that pans out.

Salesman in the industrial hydraulic and pneumatic industry. Nothing like a job where you can see Vienna sausages made, gravel crushed, windmill blades made, animal feed bagged, bottled water filled and truck bodies assembled all in the same day.
