Nonsensical Rubbish

Post by prairiefirepointers » Tue Oct 16, 2012 5:42 pm

My wife hollers at me from the bedroom and says in a laughing voice "You have to come watch this" - I sat down on the bed as she's watching "Here Come's Honey Boo Boo" :| - I made it maybe 10 mins.... I am now profoundly less intelligent than I was before having watched it.

Quite the travesty that society beckons for such inane bullsh** to be thrust onto our telivision screens.

And yes, I have an affinity for $50 words.. And yes I felt it absolutely necessary to utilize them in abundance in order to offset the stupidity I just described!

Nonsensical Rubbish

Walked in from work two nights ago to my fiancé watching it... I was rendered speechless and still have no idea what to make of it...

This title would apply to much of TV. Some is just directed at kids and other at us.

I cant even describe some of the CRAP I have come home to find my wife cackling about...... I guess as a licensed social worker some of these shows are just research for her...

To think people throw a fit about hunting on TV...

Many of those manner of reality shows on TV now...much like Nugent and the Pigman.....embarrassing to the representative group, with a degree of humor to grease the skids.

I can't stand many of those "family reality " shows. I do like, "Mountain Men and Iceroad Truckers ".

Read a newsblip this morning reporting that Honey Boo Boo has surpassed both main party Presidential candidates and is closing in on zombies as the hot costume this Halloween.

A woman in a supermarket is following a grandfather and his badly behaved 3 year-old grandson. It's obvious to her that he has his hands full with the child screaming for candy in the candy aisle, cookies in the cookie aisle; and for fruit, cereal and pop in the other aisles. Meanwhile, Granddad is working his way around, saying in a controlled voice, "Easy, William, we won't be long, easy, boy."
Another outburst, and she hears the granddad calmly say, "It's okay, William, just a couple more minutes and we'll be out of here. Hang in there, boy."

At the checkout, the little terror is throwing items out of the cart, and Granddad says again in a controlled voice, "William, William, relax buddy, don't get upset. We'll be home in five minutes; stay cool, William."

...
Very impressed, the woman goes outside where the grandfather is loading his groceries and the boy into the car. She said to the elderly gentleman, "It's none of my business, but you were amazing in there. I don't know how you did it. That whole time, you kept your composure, and no matter how loud and disruptive he got, you just calmly kept saying things would be okay. William is very lucky to have you as his grandpa."

"Thanks," said the grandfather, "but I'm William… that little "bleep"'s name is Kevin."
