A word for today

Post by Ms. Cage » Wed Jan 02, 2013 11:15 am

This was 47 years ago. April 3, 1965. An amazing prediction. Do you remember the famous ABC radio commentator Paul Harvey? Millions of Americans listened to his programs which were broadcast over 1,200 radio stations nationwide. When you listen to this, remember the commentary was broadcast 47 years ago on April 3, 1965. It's short...less than three minutes. You will be amazed. Http://stg.do/9LDc

It is amazing how that rings so true to what is going on today. I have said it before that Paul Harvey was an amazing man. I listened to him every morning on the bus going to school. It is too bad that journalists today don't strive to emulate him. Unsensationalized reporting of the news and happenings with a moral compass that kept him in line. I liked Gil Gross too, he just couldn't catch on like Paul Harvey did.

Remember a few weeks ago when I was criticized for my comments about the fact we all had guns is what kept Japan from trying to invade our country. Here is something I read on the subject recently and also found the pic and quote of the Japanese general who made the statement but didn't post it.
The World's Largest Army

True story and most people will never know it.. Here's an interesting side bar. After the Japanese decimated our fleet in Pearl Harbor Dec 7, 1941, they could have sent their troop ships and carriers directly to California to finish what they started. The prediction from our Chief of Staff was we would not be able to stop a massive invasion until they reached the Mississippi River . Remember, we had a 2 million man army and war ships....all fighting the Germans. So, why did they not invade? After the war, the remaining Japanese generals and admirals were asked that question.

Their answer....they knew that almost every home had guns and the Americans knew how to use them. The world's largest army... America 's hunters! I had never thought about this.... A blogger added up the deer license sales in just a handful of states and arrived at a striking conclusion:There were over 600,000 hunters this season in the state of Wisconsin ... Allow me to restate that number. Over the last several months, Wisconsin 's hunters became the eighth largest army in the world. More men under arms than in Iran .. More than in France and Germany combined. These men deployed to the woods of a single American state to hunt with firearms, and no one was killed.

But that number pales in comparison to the 750,000 who hunted the woods of Pennsylvania and Michigan 's 700,000 hunters, Toss in a quarter million hunters in West Virginia and it literally establishes the fact that the hunters of just those four states alone would comprise the largest army in the world. The point? America will forever be safe from foreign invasion with that kind of home-grown firepower. Hunting -- it's not just a way to fill the freezer. It's a matter of national security. *************************************************
That's why all enemies, foreign and domestic, want to see us disarmed. Food for thought when next we consider gun control.

The hunters, shooters, collectors of America are not just a bunch of gun toting kooks who only vote second amendment for their own personal gain. Each and every country in the world that was ever taken over by communism (socialism) started with a new law of gun control under the guise of a safer place to live, when in reality it is the first step to enslavement!

Think about this: “This year will go down in history. For the first time, a civilized nation has full gun registration. Our streets will be safer, our police more efficient, and the world will follow our lead into the future!”
~Adolf Hitler, 1935

And at that time in history he was an elected official! Now look at our present administration and what they are trying to sneak in thru the back door. Scared yet? Should be.

There were 14,974,534 licenses issued nationwide in 2011 and hunting is on the decline. That's one heck of an Army.

I can remember looking forward to Paul Harvey's radio shows back 20+ ago. I am 45 now. I was a big fan and thought he did the best broadcasts ever. I still feel the same way.

Ezzy, that story you posted scares the crap out of me, and I have been telling my wife for awhile now that another civil war is probably coming. This gun ban and 2nd ammendment stuff going on just might be enough to get it started if everything goes wrong.

I refuse to think we have lost our country however with the attitude of so people today it does scare you. When power is more important than rule of law something needs to be done before it gets to the point where we can't control it.

Its odd how things have changed in the last 25 - 30 years until now. It seems that China was a communist regime and we were a democracy, and now it seems that they are closer to a democracy than we are and we are inching closer to the communist slot. I agree with you that we are not lost yet, but the question is where we will be in 5 years?
