Clay County MN PF Mentor Hunt Photos

Myself and our chapter had the honor of taking out five first time pheasant hunters this year. I tagged along with a camera and snapped a few photos. We started the day with donuts, introductions and then moved onto an informational meeting with a MN DNR official. The gentleman from the DNR went over rules and regulations. CCPF President went over safety in the field along with what our chapter does. Pheasants Forever Wildlife Biologist Tony Nelson was also on hand and taught us about wildlife habitat. This was proceeded with a short Q&A for the participants and PF hats for everyone. We then hit the field. Following the days hunt we all enjoyed a delicious meal and reminisced about the day. Our chapter looks forward to the mentor hunt each year. It really is a special event for us and wouldn't be possible without the support of everyone involved.

We put up some birds, had some fun and made some memories. Nothing better than seeing a smile on a first timers face after that rooster erupts from the cover...truly is priceless.

Good for you. The future of our "sport" depends on that kind of mentoring.

Thanks for the kind words Sharon. It really was a lot of fun. Seeing the smile on the hunters faces was priceless.
