PITTSBURG PENGUINS CLASSY MOVE

Post by marysburg » Thu Oct 23, 2014 6:53 am

Thanks to the Pens who sang the Canadian National Anthem before their game last night, and projected the Maple Leaf on the ice to show solidarity with Canadians who are in shock after a shooting at Parliament Hill in Ottawa yesterday. Reservist Corporal Nathan Cirillo, who was on ceremonial guard duty at the National War Memorial was shot and killed. Being on ceremonial assignment, he had his firearm, but no ammunition with which to defend himself. The gunman then entered the Central Block of the Parliament Buildings, where he was shot and killed by the Sergeant at Arms in the Hall of Honour.

Thanks also to the FBI who sent a message of support to the Canadian people and vowed to stand with their Canadian counterparts and help in any way they could. Good Neighbours; much appreciated.
