Her First Catch!

We went down to the boat and took my daughter out fishing for the first time yesterday. She dropped a sardine in the water and had a nice size calico bite as soon as it hit the water. She told my wife that she really liked fishing with her pink pole and wants a pink gun to go hunting with Dad too. :D Great Day!!

Great picture!
I remember fishing for trout with Dad. I scooped up a big one in a wooden quart basket downstream from Dad. I don't think he was impressed. :)

You are so very lucky. I am still waiting.

We had one child, a son, who has been and still is my best hunting partner...BUT... My granddaughter is just five and not quite ready yet. My grandson is coming on 10, so he may join the fray soon. Had him out fishing for striped bass, or Rockfish, as they call them in the Chesapeake for the first time on Father's day this year. He got to help both his dad and his poppy reel in a fish. They both already know how to style up a dog on point. :D

God bless and enjoy. Savor every moment and take lots of pictures. It goes by soooo FAST.

Nice fish BTW.

Thanks all! My brother and I followed up with a boys trip, we took our nephews out for their first multi day trip. We motored through the night and they woke up to a humpback whale, snorkeled for the first time, watched a big pod of dolphins from the bow, saw a bald eagle swoop down and grab a bait fish out of the water, got to pull on a good size yellowtail and watched me clean it and turn it in to fish tacos for them while we were anchored up at the island for the night. Successful mission!

Thanks, I have probably been spending a little too much time in the hills with the dogs and not enough with the family. We finally got a break in our 70 degree day time temps last weekend , it jumped up in to the mid 80’s! So we headed down for a change of scenery, the little one requested some boat time and a sleepover at the dock. The Little Mermaid and some popcorn, equals one happy camper!

Time for a So Cal NSTRA add. We are very kid friendly. I think we have 2 boys and 2 girls under 16 running their dads dogs. They do require gunners. The kids have a blast. We keep them involved. You have a few years but it is a way to get them involved in your sport.
