VERY NICE 6 MONTH OLD AMERICAN BRITTANY PUP

Post by Carolina Gundogs » Tue Oct 24, 2017 8:45 am

This pretty girl is Darby. She is 6 months old. She is one of the pups from my last litter. Unfortunately, her family's oldest son developed a severe allergic reaction to her and after struggling with this for several months and many doctor's visits, contacted me to take the pup back. She is a very smart and super sweet pup. They kept her inside with them and she did a good job of being house trained for them. Her sire and dam are both OFA GOOD and her dam has been CERF tested as well. Both the sire and dam are great family/hunting companions and both have shown they are very competitive in the field trials. She has not had a bird in her mouth since she left me at 9 weeks of age. She has never been put on loose birds until this morning. The points you see in these pictures are from scent and are as natural as they come. Darby is available to the right home. I will have put her through gun introduction and she will have been well acclimated to birds by the time she leaves me I will be very selective to where she goes. If you are searching for a special pup that you can hunt this season, this is a good one! You do not often see a pup this nice at 6 months of age for sale. I am asking $1200 for her.

Great looking pup and nice pedigree. How big is Darby at this time and what size do you think she will mature at?

I would have to weigh and measure her to be sure. Her dam weighs 38# and is a very strong built Brittany. Her sire runs around 42#.

I believe both dogs are within breed standard.
This is the link to when they were advertised as newborn pups and includes pictures of the sire and dam:

Thanks Again,

Nice size. I like a little bigger, leggy Brittany. I ask because Buddy was quite small and so are many of his offspring. My previous female Britt was about 40# and solidly built. The 15 month old pup I have now is right a 33#, lean and can run like the wind.

This seems like a terrific deal for a guy with an opening for a well-bred Brittany.

Thanks! She is a very nice pup!

She is going to be lightening fast as well! I have been running her a little from my atv and I can tell she gets faster and increased stamina each time.

I have had many inquiries on her but I am still waiting for the right home to come around. She had a great home until the child came down with the allergies.

Very nice Pup. She would be hunting around 100+ days per year if she were part of our kennel.
Ruffed Grouse hunting.

Might be interested but it's a month or two early to decide yet. I have another dog I'm trying to bring along.

I would love to have and train her. She shows a lot of class for a pup.

It's not how many breaths you have taken but how many times it has been taken away!

Has anyone noticed common sense isn't very common anymore.

VERY NICE 6 MONTH OLD AMERICAN BRITTANY PUP

Post by andrew_rigsby » Wed Nov 01, 2017 6:23 pm

I have the pleasure of owning a sister of Darby's. My pup, Lilly, is a fantastic dog. She is very eager to please, willing to learn, a machine in the field. I've been working her with my GSP and they are two peas in a pod. Timmy is a fantastic breeder and I would be happy to get another Brit from him in the future.

That is great to hear. I am sure the diligent search will be worth it. You do good things by your dogs and customers. It is refreshing to see.
I'd rather live on the side of a mountain, than wander through canyons of concrete and steel.
