East coast GSP or ES kennel recommendations

Post by VAgundog » Sun Jan 31, 2021 4:57 pm

Very eager to buy a GSP or ES puppy this spring/summer, preferably a GSP. I’ve done tons of research trying to find my new hunting companion but seems like most reputable kennels are Midwest. I’m from VA and willing to travel!

I don't know where in VA you are or what manner of dog you are looking for... and I don't know what he has, but one of the very best who has had some dandy GSP's is Bruce Shaffer of Almost Heaven GSP's in West Virginia. He is also a top shelf trainer.

I'd be willing to bet that if he does not have what you are looking for, he will know who does. He is a stand up guy who will point you in the right direction.

If you are looking for hard driving competitive English Setters, you might call Calvin Curnutte of Drowning Creek kennels in southern VA. He has some of Terry Merritt's best setter blood and those shags can compete with anything out there.

Rusty Guns Kennels in Lillington North Carolina. You won't be disappointed.
I'd rather live on the side of a mountain, than wander through canyons of concrete and steel.

Thank you all for the feedback. I ended up putting a deposit on a male from Ruffon Birds in GA.
