Im a new gun dog owner, as well as new gsp owner. any advice will be appreciated.

1. its starting to get hot down here in texas. do gsp's shed alot during summer. aimee has started shedding alot the past couple weeks. is there any advice or trick to getting rid of the dead hair? ( i know, probably simple question, but im a newb. what can i say)
2. does anyone know of a good trainer around the houston area?

The shedding is common and if you bath and curry with a brush evry day, that will help a lot.

I would recommend Ronnie Sales of Free flight Kennels, good trainer and good fella.

Cool on a getting a gsp,,, what kinda of gun dog did ya get?
I took my cats slicker brush to my dogs yesterday to get rid of of some excess hair worked great.

shes a german shorthair. shes 8 months old and is name aimee. she is liver and roam. i tried to upload a pic of her but cant figure it out. does that trainer have a website or phone number

is 500 a month alot for training? what does that get or what should i expect by sending her off?

I'm in Dallas.. Sending a dog to North Dakota..Big country..Lots of "wild" birds..Trainer might take your pup..If you stay around Houston, I second the Ronnie Sale suggestion. He started both of my dog's and they are bird "crazy"..He is a good, honest guy!!!

Congrats on the new pup. Shedding is going to happen this time of year. To cut down on it you can make sure to give your dog a good feed and also brush with a deshedding brush as well as a surface hair brush as much as possible.
