Ch Redemption

Post by BrettBryan » Mon Jun 15, 2009 11:47 am

I was curious if anyone knew much first hand knowledge on an old dog named Ch Redemption? I think he goes back to Endurance, Evolution breeding, but I can't find out much info. on the internet about his pedigree.

I thought a few on here might know something about what type of dog he was and where he came from. I know he produced Ch Redemptions Reward, but I don't know much about that dog either.

Thanks, BB.

Big going dogs and hard headed, looked nice on thier game.. I think Jack Robinson was the breeder, Bill Rayl or his son Freddie handled the dogs I think.

As far as pedigrees, here is what I have -

Ch. Redemption was sired by Ch. Evolution out of Blythe Ferry Jane.
Evolution was sired by Ch. Endurance out of Miss Holmes.
Endurance was sired by Ch. Superman out of Alachua Sue.
Miss Holmes was sired by Ch. Riggins White Knight out of Misty Gunsmoke.
Blythe Ferry Jane was sired by Flushby out of Blythe Ferry Flack.
Blythe Ferry Flack was sired by Endurance out of Homerun Flak.

Ch.Redemption's Reward was sired by Redemption out of Addition's Lonnie.
Addition's Lonnie was sired by Ch. Builder's Addition out of Judy Flushby.
Builder's Addition was sired by Ch. Builder's Risk out of Bearwallow Babe.
Judy Flushby was sired by Flushby out of Etowah July.

I have no firsthand knowledge of either dog, but I understand that they were both "out there" kind of dogs. Redemption had a relatively short career as I understand it, but Reward had a somewhat longeer career and sired a bunch of winners. Frank Thompson mentioned Reward, among others, in his pointer almanac as one of the benchmarks of a major all age stake of the day, stating something to the effect that if any of these dogs were in the stake, it was a quality all age win, so I assume if you beat Redemption's Reward, you done somethin'.

The numbers I have are Redemption 6-42-231, Redemption's Reward 13-158-785.

Hope this fills in some gaps for you.

Ray,

Thanks for the information. I was hoping you would chime in and throw some knowledge at me. That's kind of the info. I was looking for. I just wanted to know what kind of bird dogs they were and where they came from.

Thanks again,
BB
