Just keep in mind that you're not guaranteed a flush when you release the bird. A big part of using remote release bird launchers is the fact that the trainer can put the bird in the air in an instant - like right when the dog acknowledges the scent cone. Bird launchers are used in this manner to promote the pointing instinct and steady to wing.
I'd be more apt to just dizzy the bird and either tuck its head under its wing (used when the dog is on a checkcord), or dizzy and toss into the weeds (it will hold until a dog gets near or the trainer kicks it up - used when dogs are sufficiently trained to point and hold).
