Jill's First Trial Win, Marley Close Second

Post by kylenicholas02 » Sun Oct 18, 2009 6:44 pm

Numerous people on the site are familiar with the English Pointer I bought in March from Phillip's White Line Kennels. After successfully force fetching her through the summer and finishing her out, last weekend was her first trial. She held her own against stiff NSTRA competition from MI, IN, KY, IL, and OH.

This weekend we had a club trial with 15 braces and numerous quality trial dogs. Marley set the stage in the 2nd brace with a 4/4 run and held the lead through most of the day despite my nervousness. Jill is now 10 months and quite the wild child. I remember after she locked on her first bird 45 seconds into the brace thinking this could be something. She went on to win with a 5/5 and a back.

I was a very proud dad this afternoon on the way home.. All that hard work and dedication is paying off. Thanks for all the support and especially the guys who led me to the great relationship with Nathan Phillips.

Congrats Kyle. Great accomplishment...especially for her age.

Congrats Kyle, I'm guessing that Jill is a natural retriever. How is she bred? A 10 month old pup winning an open NSTRA trial is very impressive to me.

Great Job

Just re-read your post and noticed that she was force fetched this summer and it was a club trial. Still a great job though and I would still like to know how she is bred.

Thanks

Jill was bred by Nathan Phillips at http://www.phillipswhiteline.com/. Kyle can give you the specific dogs, but she is Miller bred...
