Does anyone feed eagle pack? They use 3 different protien sources, it's naturally preserved and they have added supplements. Like some of the other foods mentioned it can be a little hard to find, and a little more money, but you get what you pay for.

I have tried a lot of dog foods. I like Purina Pro plan.
Tried Science Diet diet for a couple of months, the dogs were drinking water by the bucket full. Found out later its the iodine (salt) from
the kelp they put in it.

llewgor,

Here is a great sight for dog nutrition info, was suggested to me on another forum.
www.greatdanelady.com

She's into Danes but most of the info still applies. Check out the ARTICLES they dispell many of the myths surrounding dog food ie. corn, beet pulp, and peoples obssesion with small stools.

Alot of attention is given to Fat and Protien levels in food, but what about the cal/cup :?:

You would think that the Performance foods 30/20 would be higher in calories, but this is not always the case.

Example Canidae 24/14=466c/cup
Eagle Power 30/20=376c/cup

Both foods are considered super premium, Canidae is sold as an "all life stages formula. Eagle Power is sold for very active adult dogs/working/hunting and very popular in the sled dog world.
Why do the protien and fat levels not reflect the calories :?:
Can anyone shed some light on this :?:
