Post by GsPJustin » Mon Mar 27, 2006 3:59 pm

I have found www.perfectpedigrees.com but that only does 3 and 4 gen Peds.

Im looking for somewhere that you can either fill in or just search for an 8 gen pedigree.

Does anyone have a clue where i can go.

Thanks in advance

Also i would like to say Congradualtions to all the first timers working on there JH cuz im right there along on the ride to!!!

Not sure about that. I did find a site that has a searchable database for Griffons. http://herrenhausensportingdogs.com/database.html
You can search for griffon pedigrees all the way to the beginning. Maybe there is something similar for other breeds. It would be cool if this was available for other breeds.

http://www.worldpedigrees.com/ is the most complete public database I have found. However, it does not appear to be very up to date, in other words if you are looking for ancestors of a dog that is currently living, you might want to go back a generation and work from there.

the other option is to buy software such as compuped, they will usually supply a database and you can fill in current dogs on your own. www.mbfs.com

PS herrenhausen is just griffs, does not include gsp's

This site will show back as far as anyone has entered dogs for. If you put in a sire or dam that is already in you have the portion that is in attached to your pedigree without entering the info yourself. I have found some parts of my dogs pedigree that go back 20 or more generations.

http://www.k9info.com is a system designed to pedigree dogs. It used to be just for vizslas but changed a few years ago and now includes all breeds. It requires the owners to submit their dogs (at a small, one-time cost) but if there are plenty of submissions, as there are in vizslas, you can get information on just about every dog you'll come across.

Breeder info, pictures, etc. can be added at minimal expense. It's a great site to refer potential puppy buyers to who want information on pedigrees.
