She's Here!

Post by Breton13 » Tue May 16, 2006 11:57 am

Finally, Penny is home with us. She's 7 weeks now, and a little bundle of joy (and teeth, and speed, and chase).
She's eating and playing well, and already brave enough to follow the cat around. Doesn't like the crate at night, but last night I left the crate door open, and just closed the kitchen with a baby-gate. No accsidents on the floor, and she slept more, so I think that's the trick for her. She's only in her Crate when we leave the house.
She loves people, and "fetches" like a pro. I know it's because she want's to stick by my feet, but in my "mommy"-mind she's and excellent retriever

For those who were asking, mom is Copperline's Alex, and dad is Williamslyn Taz. Doesn't tell me a thing, but I liked the dam a lot. Maybe some of you knows more? Mom has Bullet in her lines somwhere i think. Haven't researched it too much yet.

Adding some pictures, although some are a little blurry. Sorry

Great looking pup there! It looks like you bought her the same toys I bought my new pup. Those Kong toys are the best! I got the exact same one for my pup to chew on. They hold up better than anything else I have ever bought. My wife's Boston Terrier use to destroy every toy we brought home, but he has yet to completely destroy a Kong.

Nice pup. Did you get it from a breeder or somone who just had puppies.

You better stock up on the kong they are a life saver. I went out and bought 1 of ecery style in the puppy. I fill them with treats andd he just went nuts. Plus they dont break. Well they do but my GSP pup hasnt broken one yet

Ryan.
what kind of treats do you use for the little ones? I know Kong sell the squeezy-chees looking stuff, but I didn't buy any.

I just went out and bought in bulk the old mother hubbard treats but any will do. I use the hard one like milk bones but smaller. But for the one you have pictured there are soft jerky like ones called hip chips i stuf those into the little hole on either side. Keeps him occupied for an hour or so.

Semi-breeder?? He is breeding, but I don't think on a professional level at this time. I got her from "bleep", ND, which is only 5 hrs from where I live, and I could go down and check things out before I bought her.I know he has bred many dogs, but this one was kind of on my request, because he hadn't planned on breeding his dog at that time (Copperline's Alex). My husband jokes that we were having a dog made for us!!

Nice looking pup.

We do have a gundog club here in GF. It is very informal but there is lots of help when it comes to training. Tom was very helpful for me when I bought my GSP.

Give Tom Loy a call at 773 3100.

What a nice looking little puppy. She is really young yet so I wouldn't take her many places till she has finished her shots. Bet she turns into a handful, she just looks mischievious!!!!!

It's not how many breaths you have taken but how many times it has been taken away!

Has anyone noticed common sense isn't very common anymore.

Yes, she is and active one. Very smart too, which indeed means I'll have my hands full  Very cuddly, until she decides to turn on the turbo. Then it's off to see how much she can possibly get in to. But she's a good dog. (Cats don't agree with me  )

Well, she's getting the sniffing down! Haven't taken her in the field yet, as she doesn't have all her shots, and just got her Flea/tick meds yesterday. But here are som back-yard pics.
