Photo of the Day
Re: Photo of the Day
I really like dog photo's so have to keep this near the top.
This is Squirt. He hasn't got a lot of style but he really gets intense.
This is Squirt backing Bodie. For some reason I get more of Bodie backing. Squirt may not have a lot of style but he's a bird finding fool!
Bodie backing my hunting buddy's Ben.
Bodie backing Squirt. Squirt is the front dog.

Yahhh man! That's a sweet freakin' shot!!
I've been snappin' away but not comin' up with anything I've really liked for this thread - need to start carrying the big camera I guess and see if I can catch something cleaner and crisper:
Scoots - Catch and release on a sage bomber - season was open but couldn't bring myself to throw lead at 'em:
Stone - Sharptailius find - couldn't bring myself to throw lead at these one's either - forgot my excuse why...just didn't wanna:
Stone - Nutha sharptailius find...didn't touch off a shot at these either because the wingnut dog stood there for the 10" it took me to find him then put 'em all up just about the time I huffed and puffed my azz up to him...gotta laugh...or you'd cry...:
Stone - Find on a pair of sharps in fading light - gave these ones a pass also, figured it was too late in the day to get a sharpie down and have to pack it out...or maybe that's only for elk...I dunno. Anyway, poor light, had to get nutty with the post processing to come up with a pic:
I did go ahead and shoot a rooster over Trixie the other day cause, well, it was a damm phez, you just gotta...
Off work the next two days, inspired by cjuves pic, will try and come up with something mo betta!

Great pics Doc!
I like to play the catch and release on the birds around the house, it's much more fun to have them around then to have them in the freezer

Re: Photo of the Day
This is a picture of Indy at about 3.5 months of age. One of the first times I planted a pigeon for him.
The hair part way down on his tail would puff out, think he got a little excited by the scent
This was Indy pointing pheasant today.
This was Ace my other setter backing Indy on the pheasant today,
This is maybe my favorite picture of Indy, he was 4 months and backing Ace

This picture above of my Dixie female pointing a pigeon @ 15 yards away. The most impressive part to me is she was only 3.5 month's old. The launcher was too far away for me to get in the picture to show how far off it was. She would literally tear up a field searching for a bird at that young age. Notice how small she was compared to the grass behind her .

This is Fiona with a Friend of mine... The picture isn't much... but this dog never stood a chance of ever going hunting, so it makes me smile...

Heres another one from our annual trip to Saskatchewan. This is a young pup at 9 weeks. First exposure to birds, and I think she has got it figured out.

Those are all great pics! All I had with me this morning was my iphone so I cannot compete with the photography. This pair of young dogs did their job though! They are littermates that will be 2 yrs old on the first of the year. You can hardly tell they are littermates, right?
