orange horse tack?

Post by jimbo&rooster » Sat Nov 05, 2011 3:17 pm

My father in law is looking for some hunter orange horse tack, specifically he is looking for a brest collar, a bridle, and a saddle pad..... He says so he doesn't get shot out riding. I guessing so he doesn't lose em.

Anyhow. Does any one have any thoughts where to look? He will be looking for quality stuff.

Might be a long shot, but you might try Permatack. Good luck

Yeah Mary at Permatack is a good idea but when I spoke to her last the material used to make the dog leashes did not come in orange. This material is the stuff used for horse tack. I have seen the woven nylon stuff in orange but I hear the quality is pretty bad.

There are all kinds of things in blaze for horses. I would just Google it.

Might want to look here.

Thanks.

As far as permatack goes I have several products from them, leads reigns and CCs, all great products but when I placed my last order I asked specifically about Orenge tack and it wasnt available.

This is a local guy (to me) out of Muscatine, Iowa. I've gotten several dog things from him so far, and his prices are very reasonable. He custom makes stuff while you wait, or if it's more complicated, will call when he's got it made. He makes collars, leashes, cable tie outs, etc...and is a coondog guy as I understand it. I don't know that he's ever made horse tack, but I think he's up for anything, and a bridle wouldn't be too challenging. He might not have a pattern to work from, but I could loan him a bridle, if he sounds like he's willing to do it for you. The breastcollar might be something where you buy one and add orange trim to the front and orange buckle straps. The saddle pad would require some research.

Again, I don't know if this guy will do it or how busy he is...

There's a gal (I'm guessing) on the HGS.com (Horse Grooming Supplies) Equipment for Sale part of the forum who makes custom bridles, halters, etc. Check out Horsecrazy1982's list of stuff she can make. Not sure if she does blaze orange, but probably will. She does an amazing job!

Also, it is a great place to ask if anyone else has blaze orange tack. I know someone had a BO bridle not too terrribly long ago.

All in all, it's a nice place to hang out at and learn lots, too!

How about this? Yes, you can find it at permatack.com Contact mary@permatack.com and she'll get you set up. She's made it for a couple years now.
