Looking for people to train with in N. GA
Hello,
I have a WPG and I live in North GA. I would love to get in a group close to me to train with. My WPG is a year old and I am getting her ready for her NA test. Send me a message or post if you are close by.
Thank you
Scott

Have you joined the local navhda chapter? http://navhdaga.com A lot of good folks in the club. I'm in central GA, but a lot of the navhda folks are further north. Good luck!

I am in Ringgold ga. And yes I am planning on joining the Navhda chapter. My only concern is the training days in the summer. I think it would be too hot for my dog.
Re: Looking for people to train with in N. GA
They meet early morning and there is plenty of shade and water at Buckeye Plantation. You can go at your own pace. The main reason I suggested them is so that you might meet folks in your area to train with outside of navhda. Also, if you are going to run your pup in NA, it's a good idea to see how the local grounds are set up and how the club operates. It is a really good group of people. I'm thinking of going to the next training day, and I'm not planning on running a dog in navhda this year.
BTW, if you plan on running your pup in the test here in GA, you'll want to enter as soon as entries are accepted. The fill up FAST.

Ringgold is not too far from Walnut Hill Kennels (Brenda Roe and Rick Hopkins). They are both very good trainers. They are pros, so they will charge you, and I don't know if they do 'day rates,' but it doesn't hurt to ask. Could be another good place to start. They are at http://walnuthillsgsps.com

The East Tennesse Pointing Dog Association hosts a training day the second Saturday of each month just north of Chattanooga at Gundog Development. Club membership is not required but is encouraged. For more information contact bandbarber@aol.com, hunter@gundogdevelopment.com or call 770-401-2666.

Wow, this is a great forum. Thank you all for the advise. I did meet Brenda at Walnut Hills and they are great people, very helpful. I did not know about the pointing dog association. I will look into that. Also, I am planning on attending one of the next Navhda training days, maybe I will see some of you there.
Thank you
