We are looking for a New field/home companion. Breeds: Irish, Irish red & White, or English Setter. We want a Female, close working, Larger Type Setter... I just getting older and enjoy the casual hunt. AKC registered... Just our preference no offense!!! So if anyone has any leads to upcoming litters be happy to hear from you!

Call Dennis or Bonnie Hidalgo if you are looking for a field bred type Irish http://www.fireflyfarmandkennel.com/about.html. I have one of their reds here. He's a great dog.
If you decide on a English Setter I have one pup left. But they are fdsb not akc. Most working line English setters are going to be fdsb dogs. You can cross register them any way you like.

Many Dual-type English setters out and about.
Old Hemlock, Setters West, DeCoverly would be but three.
Sift wisely and completely.

The National Red Setter Field Trial Club http://www.nrsftc.com is a great source of informaiton. Look under the breeding and then Breeder contact information tabs.

There were a few of the large AKC setter's at the last hunt test at Boyce Corrals. I didn't walk their brace, bad knee's, but did see them cast off. They left fairly slow but also seemed to be willing to hunt, just not to far out. I've got a couple photo's of them, awfully long hair, nothing a set of clipper's won't fix.
The owner live's in Concord, Calif and I don't know that she raise's them. They are not the type dog most hunter's would care for, especially the long hair and short range. But then I can see where at some point, we can learn to enjoy the short dog more. Myself, I can't keep up with big runner's any more so I know what your saying.
I think I still have an e-mail address for her. PM me if you'd like to have it.

We currently have a bitch from Susan Russell living with us, doing the dual thing.
Nice sound bitch. Easy to train. Susan produces some really nice stuff, and if she doesn't have something for you, she can find it for you.
She has a litter in the works and possibly one pup left from the litter mentioned by NL.
Here is a pic of the bitch I have.
