GoPro Mounting?
GoPro Mounting?
Has anyone ever mounted a Go Pro on their pointing dog?
If yes, How?

Re: GoPro Mounting?
I have not tried it on the dog. I think that on a fast running dog like my setter, it would be so shaky that it would be unwatchable.

http://www.campmor.com/outdoor/gear/Product___78394# Here is a link for a dog gopro mount, not sure how stable it would be but I have seen a few youtube videos out there and they are shaky as can be expected but pretty cool when they point a bird and see it first hand.
Re: GoPro Mounting?
I wondered about that it'd be neat to try but I'd think it'd be a good way to lose a camera too.
Re: GoPro Mounting?
I was watching a show the other day and they were hunting hogs in Texas and they had a camera hooked to one of the dogs collars. It was pretty cool to watch.
Re: GoPro Mounting?
I think a top mount would roll back and forth a lot.
One mounted on the chest would be more stable, but I don't know what the view would be.

Re: GoPro Mounting?
Well, if you are into videos of grass rushing by it would work great! You would have to get some altitude for it to be at all useful IMO.reba wrote:I think a top mount would roll back and forth a lot.

Re: GoPro Mounting?
I use a Contour mounted on an old Garmin DC 20 harness. Here is a video from it.

Re: GoPro Mounting?
Enjoyed the video. Have to laugh--seeing the Contour on your head, the camera swinging from your neck, and then the Contour on your dog. I'm always loaded down with the first two, and now that I've replaced my original GoPro, I'm looking at how to mount the old unit on the dog. The Garmin harness was one of my thoughts too, as I had the original Garmin and am familiar with the harness. I know with the collar unit, the harness would sometimes twist or slip back on the belly. I have yet to see any mounting idea that would 100% stay perfectly upright. I guess I'll find out how it will work, as I have one on order.Lucky Dog wrote:I use a Contour mounted on an old Garmin DC 20 harness. Here is a video from it.

What did you create to mount your Contour on the Garmin harness?
In my search, I've seen the site for Kurgo. I've also seen this one http://thesugarcoat.com/UniversalCamCollar.aspx It looks good in the photos, but I can't imagine it not rotating around the dog's neck.

Re: GoPro Mounting?
Here is what I did, I took two metal discs, and bolted them together with the garmin harness tight between them, then just use the extended bolt and a lock nut to hold the camera in place.wems2371 wrote: What did you create to mount your Contour on the Garmin harness?
