BofA and HSUS

Post by kninebirddog » Sat Dec 30, 2006 3:11 pm

and you wonder where they get the money to clog up our courts with anti hunting and anti pet owning bills and ordiances

from the BofA websearch\

The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) has worked to promote the protection of all animals. The HSUS is the nation's largest and most powerful animal protection organization, working in the United States and abroad to defend the interest of animals. The HSUS and Bank of America have partnered to offer you a variety of specialized personal financial services, including: Checking accounts, Savings accounts, CDs and Money Markets.

There is an organization which is on our side for responsible pet ownership to our hunting www.naiaonline.org

Seems they like to play both sides of the fence - my Ducks Unlimited card, originally with MBNA, is now with BoA, which bought MBNA recently.

Might be time to switch cards.

My $.02,

Same with our Bass PRo card used to be MBNA now B of A

We are going to only use it when needed and at that will pay balance off right away...CC companies call that being a dead beat account as they don't make any interest off you....

I was dissapointed as well.
Most people I talk to equate the HSUS with their local Humane Society. Personally, I don't know the connection but the agenda of the HSUS is certainly a threat.

There is not a connection. The local animal shelters are self-funded, such as our Hennepin County Humane Society (Mpls. area). HSUS co-opted the word "Humane" in order to dupe people into believing they were contributing to the shelter system.

That's what I thought. I just haven't done the research to confirm.

I was in the men's restroom at one of our local movie theatres over the weekend, and there staring me in the face from in front of one of the urinals was an ad, obviously put up by the theatre, for HSUS, describing all the millions of dogs and cats they supposedly save every day (it was suggested that this occurred in animal shelters, which of course, it does not), and to send money.

It has been reported that HSUS's income was 70 million last year and have 130 million available to "help" the poor animals. That would build an animal shelter in every state but have decided they should spend there money on advertising instead. So as of now and into the forseeable future they will own not one shelter to help a single animal.

On a related subject, every year around Christmas Petco lets you add a dollar to your sales to contribute to "The Humane Society." The people at the register don't know what that means, i.e. whether it is a contribution to the local shelter or to HSUS. Does anyone here know?

Here you go, from petco's site. You will find HSUS listed under DC.

"The PETCO Foundation supports the work of local animal welfare groups across the country through donations, community outreach events and project partnerships. Select a state for a list of the local animal welfare groups affiliated with the PETCO Foundation in that state. "

I emailed Petco and told them I will not support them as long as they have HSUS on their list and I was spreading the word through out the hunting and outdoor forums. Would you all go to the Petco site that Donnerhund posted and email them. See if we can get enough people to make Petco squirm a little.

I emailed Petco and Petsmart a few years ago about their working together with HSUS...you want to know what their replies were

that they are only supporting the pet part of their projects

I told them I wouldnt buy any thing from them till they dropped HSUS. If enough of us do that they will listen just like Fox News just cancelled their anti trapping ads when enough people called.

Perhaps the analogy is extreme but I'm sure that people in 1930's - 1940's Germany said the same thing about the Nazi party.

Did AKC drop their affiliation with HSUS? I no longer see a link on their website.
