Re: Pointer in water
Mine love the water as well. Good thing, since we kayak a lot in the summer for exercise!
Re: Pointer in water
That day I took the pictures I did before leaving with my kayak ...

SCT,
Yes, it's very good retriever, although I use my labs , but I saw so much desire for water and retriever that or I trained it. only for fun.

My last brittany wouldn't retrieve. She'd find downed birds for me but simply would not pick them up.
Well one day I shot a pheasant that flew out over a small pond before expiring. The dog without hesitation jumped in, swam out and brought the bird back to me. I was telling a buddy a few weeks later and that day she went on point at the edge of that pond. The bird flushed out over the water and I figured I'd see what kind of an anomaly the previous fetch was so I dropped the bird with a splash. Sure enough, she repeated the feat.
The only two retrieves she ever made! Crazy.

Great pics Oscar.
and who said setters don't like the water ?
This girl is 13 in this pic and regularly in the summer likes to swim a half mile across the lake and back.

Re: Pointer in water
Great photos! I had fun introducing my pointer to the ocean this week. He's funny in that he still doesn't like pools, but lakes, rivers and the ocean seem to be fine. Rookie mistake in terms of his drinking the salt water, though, but I think he's figured that part out.

Thanks, Nutmeg.
