Anti dog laws? how to fight back?

Post by HUTCH » Mon Jan 29, 2007 4:01 pm

I have seen so many law proposals that are crazy lately. I have always thought nothing that would effect me would ever get passed and so I didn't really care. but I am starting to get worried with some of the things I am hearing. so how can we fight back? what groups are good groups and not really anti dog groups posing? If anyone can point me in the direction of an organization that is working for dog owners rights and not against them I would greatly appreciate it. thanks.

Surely not the last Republican. And really, instead of voting party line, do your homework on your candidates. There are many watchdog groups out there that post factual information so you can decide (based on certain pinpointed issues). A place I like to consult is the Sportsmen's and Animal Owners' Voting Alliance (SAOVA), found here: http://saova.org/

Not the only Republican by a long shot.
Being Republican and voting Republican are two different things. Unfortunately, even if you are one you have to hold your nose a lot harder to vote like one these days.

I've seen enough "anti" laws in this last 8 years. And there is a republican in the white house, and in Sacramento.

Can't blame Republicans or Democrats, it's more aptily put to say concervative or liberal, and you don't have a conservative in California. However out there you need to look at your neighbors since they are the ones making the laws and not the government.

I am glad to be recognized for my ascerbic, although infrequent, wit. My remark comes from personal experience. My fingers get so tired from squeezing I have to change hands sometimes.

I am a Teddy Roosevelt Republican, I rather like the environment. They seem to forget us once they are in office. But the Democrats can't remember who we are to start with.

Ayres,

Go back and read. That comment was directed strictly to California where the people write laws and vote on them.

Well I did read it, that's why I posted on it. I didn't get from your post that it was strictly related to California though.

Doesn't really matter though, because it was just a joke.

PETA is on trial for dumping dead animals into a dumpster in NC. You can follow the trial here....
www.petakillsanimals.com

Also, as an interesting side note, if you leave off the s in kills in the above url, it will take you to a PETA site. Cute on their part!

There is a yahoo list you can join to read about pet laws around the country....http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/pet-law/

Republican or Democrat....
