How in the heck do you get such good pictures? Haha They look great! I just don't have enough hands to run a camera while training!

That second one is pretty neat. My wife is the shutterbug in our house. If I tried to take a high speed picture like that, it would turn out like a kindergarten finger painting. Blurry and uninterpretable lol!

Gunther, my previous ESS. Wouldn't stop running long enough to point. Did flush a few.

I had others but I must have deleted them from photobucket.
The first picture is of Champ that I got in January.
The second is of Nittany when I raced him in flyball. We were both a lot younger then.

These were done by a pro photog at a trial. I own the Brittanys not sure who the GSP was. This guy goes to trials and does a lot of dog photo work. He does a great job.

Don, I think you took this one at last year's Setter Classic. It's one of my favorites.

I am going with Vizsla!

A well conditioned field bred setter is tough to beat on the ground. They look the best doing it too

Anybody clock their dogs at full tilt on a GPS? I clocked my GWP at 33 MPH, but it was using the speedometer on a side by side so it is a little suspect.

When I did the flyaball with Nittany, he was a pretty fast dog. He was able to run faster than the other sporting dogs that were there but their numbers weren't that great and he didn't go up against many. He got to the point where he would run just fast enough to beat the dog he was racing against. This didn't work against the whippets and border collies since those dogs were a good bit faster. For whatever reason there was a Gordon Setter that he didn't like. Nittany would bark and growl at him as he went over the jumps but he never left his lane.

One of my very favorite pics of my boy Ozzy. Not doing bird work here but he did win this disc dog competition in a sea of herding breeds! :)

I'd say the coursing dogs are fastest. In bird dog's, not a clue. I've seen dog's of different breed's that absolutely haul the mail and other dog's of the same breed that have trouble going. The fastest will probably only be determined by certain individuals of the different breed's. Years ago at a NSTRA trial, I was approached by a guy that wanted to bet me his girl friend's dog would beat my Hannah off the line by a good margin. I didn't take the bet, just wasn't interested in it. Turned out that Hannah absolutely smoked her and hit a bird about 20 yds off the line. By the time the other dog got there, Hannah was already standing on point! Blew the guy's mind! lol

I think something that is true with fast dog's is the dog with longer legs actually is faster, they get a longer stride. Shorter legs make the dog appear faster than they really are.
