which breed is best?

Post by jbellflyman » Fri Jul 06, 2007 11:07 pm

i know this might cause some fights over the forum but i am considering getting another dog within the year and was wondering if you all might have some advice. i was looking into four different breeds; GSP, Brittany, Vizsla, and Weim.

what should i be looking for in a dog?

thanx for the help,

jbell

What do you want in a dog?

What breed do you already have?

The question you ask only lends itself to a biased opinion. Truth be told you can have all the same qualities in any given breed. Its all in what you want and what you fancy.

FWIW

You want the breed you like best and it doesn't matter a hill of beans what any one else likes best.

It's not how many breaths you have taken but how many times it has been taken away!

Has anyone noticed common sense isn't very common anymore.

The reasons people choose the breeds they do could go on forever. Those reasons don't have to make sense to anyone but you.

Like Justin Wilson used to say when ask what kind of wine to drink with certain dishes. "Drink which kind you like".

You might also look for a top breeder/trainer that is close by you. That kind of help can push any breed over the top.

Best regards, Greg J.

I second this answer
"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
"When I hear somebody talk about a horse or cow being stupid, I figure its a sure sign that the animal has outfoxed them." Tom Dorrance

I'll make it easy... :D

You're in Boise...hmmmm....let me think a minute...just get one of these FC/AFC Dunfur's Charlie Bailey-Gates X FC/AFC Dunfur's Dumazuri Rapscallion pups and you'll be set. They're on the ground now and I've heard a few left - http://www.dunfur.com Why?? Why?? Because they work!!

Good luck - there's good ones in all breeds like folk have said. Whatever floats yer boat!

There are some great GWP breeders in Idaho, but I noticed they weren't on your list. :(
