When you stud your dog out. How many times do you tie them and on what days of the cycle?

My stud fee also includes a week worth of boarding. I usually tell the owner to start progesterone testing on about day 7 of the bitch's cycle. We then go from there as to when they either bring her or ship her to me. My stud has gotten very good about knowing when to breed a bitch and you also want to see if the bitch is standing. After the first tie I will usually put them together every other day for the rest of the week. We always have multiple ties during that week unless the bitch has been shipped a little on the later side.

Every bitch is different! You can't just count days of the cycle and breed them. I've had some bitches not ovulate until day 18 - 20 of their cycle! We've had 8 pups in these litters.
